CCM Sparks Freedom Field Project with $100k Donation

Nov 27, 2024

Introducing – Freedom Field! This football field at Milan (Ohio) Edison High School honors Corpsman Maxton Soviak, 22, an Edison graduate who was among 13 U.S. Service Members who died on Aug. 26, 2021, in Afghanistan. His heroic efforts helped evacuate Americans and Afghan citizens, including children, at risk of being killed by the Taliban.

Soviak grew up in Berlin Heights, Ohio, and was a member of the Edison Chargers football, wrestling and track teams. He joined the Navy after graduating in 2017. His number 27 is embedded at the 27-yard line in four places on the new field.

Support of the Military is very important to us, and our $100,000 contribution jump-started the fundraising for this project. Watch to learn the incredible story from his friends and family members.
